FACES
Which, of my many faces, will face the public next?
One coin,
two sides;
Desire, defined‐
and
Desire, denied‐
Like that,
I have one face,
but, with more than just two sides‐
Like the roll of a die,
what shows is simply chance and possibility‐
Love
Apathy
Hate
Care
One face,
with too many more than, only two sides‐
One voice,
with far more than only two tones‐
One mind,
with many, many thoughts...
too many‐
Thoughts of life, that bring light‐
Wants, and wishes, that I have but no choice to keep in the dark...
like my desire to become faceless and numb-
My eyes can no longer cry...
so why must my heart continue to feel?
Shall I flip a coin?...
Or roll a die?...
for who will win this war within me
or for simply who will next take a hold of my pen‐
The accepted one, or the reject...
The helper, or the one crying out for help...
What will show on the page?...
Creativity, or Chaos
Sympathy, or Sin
What will it be?
A letter to an enemy?
or a friend...
social commentary?...
Another, Tale of Torment, maybe?...
Who will it be?
Which, of my many faces, will face the public next?...
