on my face
hidden or exposed
lie two pieces of information
abuse or admire
and this mire
varies from person to person
while I am nobody
in the country where I was born
but it’s not the same place anymore
flooded with foreigners of the same kind
who never learned the official language
who had a war in their country
so, we MUST welcome them with open arms
they have no manners, they scratch
our jackets too close to feel comfortable
no room to breathe, no room to think
with OCD ingrained in my brain
all we have are foreign words
in a country that was supposed to be my own
it’s not a matter of racism, it’s a matter of skill
they need to learn the basics
when they emigrated, whatever the reason
the new environment requires new resources
I’m sure they have time after work so they can study
and that was supposed to be their top priority
as it is mine
every day in my foreign country
if I made a mistake, I correct it
and next time it will be said and done accurately
as I don’t consent to be abused by them
regardless of the country I visit
my own or abroad
which has now become more familiar
since I’ve been sitting there most of the year
