A life is canvas,
Every person a palette
and circumstantial.
Mineral of bone,
Water of tears, oil in guts,
And these are my strokes:
Rendered from soil
Distant emerald tropics
with ruby dragonfruit.
Offbeat and odd though,
I can flood with indigo blues,
But given new hues
Like orange laughter
Pops of citrus on the tongue
Caused by belly laughs,
And queen purple from
Squad goals golden girls in heels
With royal swagger
And you, blood of life
Give all from blush of first romance
To burgundy rage.
Tempered by specters
Who tally my stolen smiles
In ebony ink.
