Eyes

Yearning To be Seen

Amazing…

The nights that have passed,

My secrecy must be getting better

Because I weep

And I weep,

Silently,

Next to you,

In bed,

The car,

The kitchen,

Hoping you will see.

But you never look my way.

So I wipe the tears and

Hide it again —

Except those few days,

When I mistakenly sniffle in

And you look my way

Missing my eyes,

But a pat on the arm,

And a monotonous

“I’m sorry.”
