The fan turns the light moves
and I close my eyes to leave the room behind
In that silence I find a home far from here—
mountains rivers a sky that feels just right
She’s there with a smile and so is the life
Time doesn’t follow me there
It waits patient as if it knows I’ll return
I don’t care how the world runs—
who builds it who breaks it
or how it measures worth in fleeting hours
I don’t care for the noise of it
the rush the demands the endless grind
But I open my eyes
and the room reminds me where I am
The clock ticks
each second pulling me further from the dream
and deeper into a truth I can’t escape
Between the seconds I hold onto that elsewhere
not as a wish but as a promise
