Moon, dearest moon,

Waning, sliver, waxing, fullest...

My ever-watchful eye beyond the sky

*

Your luminescence—like joy—

differs daily.

*

Your constancy—like friendship—

ever endures.

*

Your temperature—like moods—

varies vastly.

*

How lonely you must be,

solitary in the vastness of space.

Know that I am here,

observing you,

keeping you company,

while you do the same for me.

*

My ever-watchful eye beyond the sky

Waxing, fullest, waning, sliver...

You remain,

Moon, dearest moon.

This feels so gentle and heartfelt. I love how you personified the moon with warmth and tenderness.

  • Awww, the moon would be so touched by this if it could read. Loved your poem!
