My first failure

When I first tried to come down to earth

there was a huge explosion.

A violent burst of becoming-

a rift torn in the veil

between spirit and stone.

I scattered-lightning across water-

too bright, too fast,

and spent a thousand years

trying to remember

what I had once been.

What a powerful way to express the chaos of transformation.
