This is perfectly timed for school exams haha. I think the use of a line break after “remember” fits perfectly, and it’s a succinct but thought-provoking message. We definitely over-assess our students, and having taught in both NZ and now the UK, there’s still an imbalance between the rote learning of content for short-term retention, and the development of life-long skills, especially critical thinking, writing to persuade, and problem-solving. It’s a tricky one!

Ya, okay, I still like for the little ones to do math by rote because it sticks!! Nice one😍

After a co-op experience, my friend's daughter felt that university classes only taught her how to memorize for exams. Instead, she wished there was more application of the knowledge. This 'like' is in her spirit! :)

Ouch...this feels like a ton of truth. That's the thing though...I never excelled at school and part I think was because it never really felt about learning and taking in and forming your own thoughts...was just a memory test! Well written!
