I’m filled with a terrible beauty,
So deep I could cry.
My heart is as magnificent as
The cleaning lightning storm —
Suddenly violent an dramatic,
Shocking and true.
.
This feeling overwhelms the space
With a benevolent shifting,
A ripping and tearing of
Foundations of a ‘self’.
.
It’s the pressure of dark,
A deep ocean of gentleness,
That which un-conditions
And only feeds when hungry,
Ravenous for an experience
Of soft wind and the glow of sunlight,
Unmuted,
But changed in tone and color
When it passes through the forest
Of patient giants,
Green and old,
They have forsaken thoughts
For a deeper knowing.
.
As I am,
I surrender to this feeling,
This mover of mountains,
For what else would I do?
Resist? For millions of years?
No, that's a way to be overridden
By the desires of Nature,
Tossed to the side and declared
A 'step in the ladder',
Rather than the ladder itself.
About the Creator
Sabayo Matiku
I express the realities and frequencies that words are carried on, to speak to the heart in a manner that is simple and free. I've come to ruffle feathers and to polish the sky, to laugh and wonder.
