After 4 years since his last album/project release, Wale came back to close 2025 off with a bang. Not only is Wale one of my personal favorite artists, but as an art lover and artist myself, I have always respected his pen, from the lyrical songs to the poetry to the wordplay and double entendres. He’s made a name for himself as a true songwriter with a passion for the arts. Wale's 8th studio album is titled "Everything Is A Lot." Man, these past few years, I’m sure everyone can relate to that! So the title alone drew me in. From the moment I pushed play on the album, he set the tone so perfectly with his intro song, speaking on him and the mother of his child deciding to just be at peace and do what’s best for themselves and the family. From that first track, I was like, wow, this is about to be deep. Wale's new album, to me, is what a lot of men need to really listen to. It’s okay to be transparent; it’s okay to show emotions; it’s okay to open up and not care if the world judges you or not. Wale is from DC, a heavily cultured part of the world, and in this album, he really went back to his roots. He got so many great samples cleared, which I’m sure cost a fortune, or he leveraged his great relationships with people. Even from the samples, I knew that he really took his time with this project and was willing to do anything for the art. The soulfulness and Afrocentric beats of this album truly make you feel the music. My favorite songs are "Power & Problems" and "Big Head." I encourage anyone who is a pure fan of music and meaning to really listen to this album. It will encourage you to really sit, reflect, and, most importantly, accept reality. #samuelsthoughts 📖 🧠 💡
