Every morning

By William Sangalli

By Will SangalliPublished 8 months ago 1 min read

You want to see the sunrise each and every morning.

Watch it slowly creep its way up the horizon— meeting the skyline.

Bringing nothing but beauty and bliss to your soul.

But the Way had other plans for your stay.

Deceiving the sublime can be

Often pushing you towards a life of hypocrisy.

Casting darkness across the solid earth

Bringing lust to souls that have not been told their worth.

Losing their way with the distractions of the sublime.

Where had it wandered off to for such a long time?

Lost in a vast world of eyes staring at you

You tumble and fall, yet still try to cut through

How you miss Her, your baby blue.

Bumping into Her at every corner in your mind

That memory of her feels so divine.

It whispers to you each and every morning

And all you can do is feel yourself scorning.
