Everpresent danger, lurking in the dark

It's enough to make anyone's heart start to race and spark

Our fear is legitimate, it's not just in our head

When the rescue comes late, we may fear our loved ones are dead

A baby gasps for air, as we wait with bated breath

Hoping and praying that they'll come out of this test

The danger all around us, we must be aware

Forgetting it could lead to a life that is nowhere

So we take a deep breath, and try to stay calm

We keep our loved ones close, hold them tight in our arm

Together we'll face this danger, no matter how hard

For in each other's embrace we can never be truly marred

And when the rescue finally does arrive

We breathe a sigh of relief, happy to be alive

But we never forget the fear that we felt

For it's a reminder that life's cards can be dealt

So we stay strong and vigilant, ever ready for what's to come

For the everpresent danger never really goes numb

But with courage and love, we can face it all

And rise above it, standing tall.
