Evanescence Made Easy

Instructions for Disappearing

If it is your ambition to vanish

You have no need of scientific guile

Nor will spells translated from the Spanish

Allow your form to disappear with style

Consider another course of action:

Let it be known that you are ill, somehow

Watch as by small increments, mere fractions

Who you were becomes the thing you are now

In fact, as your body starts to betray

You'll see yourself become a spectacle

And hear the gawking asses snort and bray;

If things get strange enough, then tackle

That your ghost will abide, clothed in gossip

As into smirking anecdote you slip

Sonnet

    My goodness, this stings. "You'll see yourself become a spectacle And hear the gawking asses snort and bray." There's a painful and annoying truth. Well done!

    A dark narrative very well written! So unfortunately true about how we treat others.
