EULOGY

EULOGY- this is a somber poem that saddens me to this day. It is based on a true story. And I feel the need to keep this little girl's story alive. On October of 2015, two adult men got into a roadrage situation on the highway. Seems the two men either knew each other or just decided that they were going to be MEN and show the other guy who was tougher. The one in the truck kept cutting the other guy off as he kept trying to pass him. The 2nd man then got angrier at what the first guy was doing so pulled his gun and shot into the back of dude's truck since he was in front of him. Lucky for the first guy, he missed....not so lucky was the little girl about 5 years old sitting in the back seat. When first guy's little boy spoke up and said, "She's bleeding!" was when the guy paid attention to the fact he was carrying his two children. Guy finally let the other guy go and pulled over to call and wait for the ambulance. But it was too late. The damage of each men's pride was evident. Coincidentally, it had begun to rain as they were on the side of the road as if the heavens were crying. Both men were at fault, not just the one that shot the gun..and it angers me even now. I wrote this either the same day or the next, I don't recall but it has the date I wrote it. By now I believe and hope the little girl has reincarnated or maybe she isn't ready, but she will have a better life this time around. It is the only thing that makes me smile about that day when I read this poem:

Appropriate...

The sky is crying...

Tears bleed from darkened clouds...

Earth moans, groans...

In quiet despair.

The pavement cracks in pain.

One small choice...

One small thought...

One small bullet...

One small life...

One small taste of beauty...

Spark snuffed..Gone!

Now we weep!

The world cries with you..

Gather memories,

For a small pine box...

Only the good die young!

Hush little baby...

Don't you cry.
