Ethereal Women

A Group of Mysterious Women

By Lovely LuciaPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

A warm summers' night crept

As the sun began to set

Groups of children said their goodbyes

And headed toward the town houses

.

However, I was alone

In a cramped flower garden

The buzzing faded from my ears

Sunflowers towered over my head

Marigolds began to slightly close

.

I gazed at groups of stars

The apricot sky had turned plum

Planets visible to the human eye

The constellation of Gemini appeared

Ursa Minor roared like a cub

Lupis bellowed in the skies

Circinus pointed toward the skies

.

I had closed my eyes

When they had suddenly appeared

They had appeared out of nowhere

A group of humanoids walked in the barren fields

Clothed in white, suits of silver, and tall

They grazed the fields

In circles they walked

Until I had caught their attention

I tried to sneak into my house

Hoping to escape the unknown

Only to be met with the women at the garden

Their leader waved by the gate

Curly hair, brown skin and grey eyes

Friendly smile but stern posture

.

"We would like to speak with you"

The woman mouthed

She gave a courteous smile

I hesitated to listen at first

But she firmly nodded

Assuring my safety

Her hand was out

A gesture of kindness awaited

"It is okay, we are only here see you"

.

I had asked what they had wanted

The tallest woman held out her hand

Her eyes sparkled like grey moissanite

As I shook her velvet hands

As the sun had faded

Skies of orange no more

Tones of blues and purples

The ladies waved farewell

And disappeared into the tall grass

.

After the sun completely set

I had arrived home

My body felt heavy

Sleepy brown eyes

Cramped ankles

To my surprise

I had a realization

I had begun to change

.

It feels awkward

But at the same time

I am thankful for her

The woman that opened the gates
