Eternal Sunlight

The dance of sorrow and sun

Words fail to define the eternity in your eyes

I hold your heart in my hands, bright as sunlight

Dreams live on your lips, your voice is honey and lavender

You dance

A pirouette that falters and then rises in my soul

Meadowlarks sing your praises

Dewdrops reflect your smile and I sigh, fulfilled.

I live in this moment

One stolen kiss

A sunbeam on a barn door

Grass as a pillow

A broken lullaby and then laughter

Sunken ships revered her smile

Immortal youth in the sheen of her hair

She glides into memories on a silken whisper

Sullen at first and then a ray of light

She burns

Dare we fly or do we do wonders on the ground?

Shall we heighten ourselves to aspirations beyond the clouds?

Do we dare to dream of brightness on our brow, or our hands performing tomorrow’s memories?

We utter the words we want to hear

We rise and bruise our doubt

This is now

You are the beautiful present

Glory in your eyes

While we wait, we are ourselves

Warriors and kings behind us

Head held high

Indefinite
