undo the threads that tie you to the grid

withdraw in steps let nothing show you hid

the name the tax the digital remain

must fade before you cross the southern plain

destroy no thing just let it fall from view

a silence deeper than goodbye will do

your car your lease your cell your paper trail

unwind each one as if you shed a veil

depart by bus by foot by one way flight

with just enough to pass not to invite

your bags are lean your story even less

a smile that answers nothing but a guess

in panama they speak a spanish light

with borrowed words that bend to make things right

they will not ask you why you had to flee

just prove you bring a use or wage or fee

a tourist first no visa at the gate

youll get three months to look around and wait

within that time you choose a way to stay

the friendly nations visa clears the way

youll need to open up a local bank

deposit five grand give no cause for prank

a lease or deed a lawyer in your name

this step is paper nothing loud or fame

with residency you gain the right to breathe

to rent to work to plant to quietly seethe

your record clean no felony no war

they will not ask what came the year before

a pension path if you are fifty plus

the retiree visa works without much fuss

a small amount per month will prove your pace

they will not test your skills or need your face

change names if you must spell them clean and clear

no need to fake just let the rest disappear

a local sim a flat with wired locks

your past now folded deep inside a box

do not return not even for the dead

whats left behind is only what was said

begin in heat with rain that knows no lie

your second birth beneath a humid sky

For Fun
