an acrostic poem

Sitting in a lotus pose
I regulate my breathing in-two-three; out-two-three until at
last I depart from a plane of quibbles and nonsense into
essence; the safe space of my soul where the universe unfurls in ammonite spirals and endless possibility -
nebulas bloom deep in spectrums of colours unimagined; and when I am ready - at the edges of it all - I slowly release the magic and prepare to
carry it back with me into the bluster and wonder of
everyday existence

We've been scribbled in the margins of a story that is patently absurd
