Erosion and Rebirth
"Acid flows through the colossal gaping hole in my chest..."

Acid flows through the colossal gaping hole in my chest,
Created by Death’s Scythe.
Hope is eroded and seared off.
Little pinkish red-flakes float out into the air.
I watch as the flakes disappear into the sun.
I scream and curse at the heavens as the old me melts away,
what’s left of him disappearing into the sewer drain.
My heart rate increases, the beats sounding like a desperate cackle.
My heart bubbles from its core, hot as the sun.
I scream in agony until I can’t feel the pain.
The blood around my heart hardens into a concrete cocoon.
It cools and reeks of cooked flesh.
I sew up the hole in my chest and patch it up with dead skin.
Smirking, this burnt visage walks into the distance, feeling like a new man.
