Equality

Written by Francesca Elise

He braves this grave world alone

He hits the pavement cuz he has no place to call home

Let me take you out the streets for the streets take you out life

Dont ever let no white man tell you that you wrong

Cuz He aint seen what you saw

Nah he aint feel your pain

Of your little sister losing her brain, all over the wall

Of your daddy disappearing to the store to never return

Of your mama raising you on her own while she was fighting her own

Battles within

The privileged judge you on the life that you live but

They got to do whatever they pleased with they mommy and daddys money

Including going to college

And getting set up with a good paying job that they barely earned and they barely want

Meanwhile you had to hit the streets at 13 because thats the only job that lacks child labor laws

And now with your sister gone you got nothing to lose

Except your sanity but,

Thats already long gone

I pray the lord that for your sake,

we see equality one day.
