Ephemeral Echoes: A Poem on the Fleeting Nature of Moments

The wind whispers secrets to the trees,Scattering petals like memories in the breeze. The sun waltzes on the silver lake,A fleeting shimmer, a moment to take.

Footprints pressed in golden sand,Soon erased by the ocean’s hand.Laughter echoes, then fades to air,A vanished song—was it ever there?

The moon casts shadows soft and slight,Flickering ghosts in borrowed light.A child's first step, a fleeting glance,A moment lost in time’s expanse.

A drop of rain on thirsty ground,Kisses the earth, then is nowhere found. The scent of spring in morning’s hue,Gone too soon like love so true.

Old photographs in dusted frames,Eyes now lost, whispers names.Frozen smiles, yet time still flies,Life moves on beneath these skies.

Fireflies blink in fleeting streams,A thousand stars in fractured dreams.Touch them once, they drift away,Like sunset’s kiss at end of day.

We chase the dawn, we grasp at night,Holding seconds, holding light.Yet moments slip, like grains of sand,Through desperate hearts and trembling hands.

A lover’s voice, a final sigh,Soft as autumn’s last goodbye.A wish upon a comet’s flight,A flicker lost to endless night.

The echoes fade, the echoes swell,In time’s embrace, all things dwell. But though they pass, they leave a trace,A fleeting kiss of time and space.

So dance, my love, in golden light,Sing your song before the night. For though the moment dares to fly,Its whisper lingers in the sky.
