sweet, deep waters

This Piscean Queendom pulls at me

Drags my body below ocean skin

Fortified, buoyed with breath

Safely sinking til the surface returns

Downwards, I surrender

Well below the follicles of bull kelp

Where morning light goes unnoticed amongst oyster beds

What shall we unveil here, this time?

A pearl, or barnacle, yet to be found

The sea lions coalesce, rocking their babes with the tide

Bristled chins turn up knowingly
