Enough?
Poetry from the girl who never felt enough.

Always striving, never reaching.
Always working, never earning.
No matter how hard one tries, they never seem to be 'enough'.
'Enough'. Such a funny little word; yet it defines the entirety of a person's worth.
To be complete, one must be 'enough'.
To be valued, one must be 'enough'.
How do you measure a person?
How do you determine whether one is 'enough'?
For to be considered enough, one must be judged by someone who is already 'enough'.
But who deemed the judge 'good enough'?
A vicious cycle of one person deeming the other, based on circumstantial, superficial, subjective qualities.
What if we stopped saying "You are enough"?
What if we started to say "Well done!", "Good job", "Amazing work"- no matter the outcome.
What if instead of promoting 'enough', we promoted "our best".
An objective determining of worthiness based on the individual rather than the majority.
What if instead of enforcing a standard, we applaud and praise and congratulate on every level?
Then we see "our best" arise and grow and blossom like a beautiful, strong cedar tree, with it's roots grounded in it's individuality and purpose.
Won't that be enough?
