Enough

A Poem

By Mihaela VasilevaPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

Enough, enough. The world is rough.

It beats you bad, it thinks it’s tough.

Enough, enough, to this mortal coil.

I know my soul, it lives with soil.

Enough, enough, to tears spent

I have only myself to represent.

Enough, enough, to temper lost.

Look around, do you see its cost?

Enough, enough, to broken wings

Yes, I know how bad it stings.

Enough, enough, to time wasted

I offer my patience to be tested.

Enough, enough, to your useless talk.

My mind is elsewhere, ignoring your mock.

Enough, enough, to your obsessions

Soul, did you hear me? I said my confessions.

I admit, I declare my weakness is drawn.

Next to your King, I am simply a pawn.

But I carry strength in me stronger than steel.

It keeps me in check, before I too greatly feel.

You see, I know I am enough for myself.

I write my own stories upon my own shelf.

To believe that I can fall in your devilish hands.

Believe me, I quite easily understand.

I am enough, my soul is whole.

Though I continue to search, for whatever is left and

More.
