Enjoy Now
But Remember Then & Plan For Later

Though trouble lurks waiting to foment
We all must reside here in the moment
We don’t have a lot of choice
Yet don’t neglect yesterday’s voice
We look back to remember
How we got to each December
Letting choices made set our course
So tomorrow we know where to guide the horse
We plan for tomorrow and hope it works out
Making plans, working through doubt
But as we swivel our heads back and forward
We have to remember also to look toward
The ground at our feet right now at this moment
If we don’t latch on it may all end in torment
Don’t let worry cause your grasp to slip
Your happiness depends on this little tip …
Stop occasionally to enjoy the right now
Laugh with your love, catch a movie, pet a cow
Call your parents, kids, or an old friend
Tell them you love them as each day doth wend
For if we only look back we live in regret
If we only look forward we often forget
The joys we have in this current place
The light of chance in our now space
Remember to bring your love a rose
Walk through the spring grass in your bare toes
Dance with the devil a tango hot
Let slip away worrisome thought
Then slip on your shoes and check your calendar
Use lessons learned yesterday to face future challengers
Plan for future, remember the past,
But please don’t forget to let the good moment’s last
