Enemy

Pain.

By Charli LilliPublished 8 months ago 1 min read

Another hour, spent alone

Another day, I'm feeling low

And talking it out only makes it worse

Another thing that’s wrong with me

Another insecurity

I think too much it’s clear to see

Then I embrace the self pity

Everything is going south

While I'm trying to move ahead

All these voices can’t compare

To the thoughts inside my head

Sure their disapproval hurts me

But it’s really nothing new

How can you avoid the rival

When your own enemy is you

Wish I could take my thoughts

And just lock them all away

A moment without judgement

There’s nothing cruel to say

Feeling happy for a moment

Then it comes out of the blue

How can you avoid the rival

When your own enemy is you
