Enduring Light

A Poem of Friendship's Unwavering Flame

How do our words flow, like a warm stream, Will our conversations namely cease to be a dream someday? Among men, as ever, Time now stands; With touches of such delicate hands; May carve us apart as hours go by.

It seems distance speaks in a whisper, if our paths are lost, don’t let suspicion stay, and fear to roam free. The distance between us is not vast, but rather close, my love, is your past.

They say that fate brought us together like two lovers’ rhyme But they are still two roads that are not obliged to meet again just like time. Reminiscence, similar to once glowing ash, Will slowly starts a fire and leads the way, Wandering through friendship’s warm, glowing rays.

The truest bond – a word unspoken, Is not in constantly spoken tokens, But in the simplest of all – confession. They say that once destiny entangles two people, They’ll be together, friends until the day is done.

If words lose their way, carried by life’s strife, Be assured my sentiments continue to thrive, Despite silence cutting across our lifeline. The weariness, or the cold shyness of loneliness did not tear asunder what was most holy and spotless to the usage of light.

Still, even when the roads are quite clear, A part of us, forever, will forever never. The joy we have seized at that moment of time, with the ticklish sound, the happiness distilled within.

You will be a shine, the shine from the star, A constant light that none will ever mar.

This rewrite emphasizes the positive aspects of the friends and the fact that the friendship remains close no matter how they go their separate ways.
