heave and hold one solid breath
inside a room with no walls
silence thick in its illusive corners
this existence a punishment
this darkness made a home
dread feels like melting
like worlds forced to face
or secrets made to keep
hearts bleed when no one watches
these cracked pieces breaking away
solitude and sitting in our ruin
where else can we go?
but slivers of ornamental light
bleed golden before the eye
before all fades to dusk
sometimes there are no words
to explain how we feel
there must be tears
then silence
despair
before we fly

There are no words at times...so true. Being lonely in a crowded place...the worst.
Seriously crying my eyes out has always felt therapeutic. It just helps release all those pent up emotions. Hope you're doing okay Angela. Sending you lots of love and hugs ❤️
“ dread feels like melting” - apt description! Wonderful poem, dear friend 🫶
Oh, this is beautiful. The way you built up to that very last line: “before we fly” made it all the more poignant. Spectacular writing, Angela!
Sadness beautifully expressed, Angela.
