Lying in wait
Like a panther
Preparing to pounce,
STRESS HIDES.
—
Be aware.
—
Weaseling its way in
Like an unwanted weed
Among gorgeous gardens,
STRESS CREEPS.
—
Be vigilant.
—
Leaping without warning
Like an astute adversary
Dreaming of your downfall,
STRESS ATTACKS.
—
Be ready to disappear.
—
Your options are endless
If you know where to look.
—
A secluded cabin
Surrounded by silence
—
An oceanfront oasis
Desiring some drama
—
A majestic mansion
Shrouded in secrecy
—
A crowded courtroom
Teeming with tension
—
Stress is no match
For the intensity
Of imagination.
—
Let the burden of reality
Blur into the background,
As you blissfully vanish
Into the perfectly-presented prose
Of another penned page.
