I’m so embarrassed
So humiliated
This land
I once thought things could be different
Hopes, dreams and strange things
But nightmares broke through the fold
And all that glittered was never gold.
Times try the patience of a life lived
The wind in its graces is often not a friend.
There’s an iciness to the world and the frigid cold
Forces us to weigh upon realities we never should
And if there was a way to change the pain and
Circulate a love that transcends all of this
I wonder if we could reach for it?
Tears fall in silent weep
Because breaths are so precious to keep
Tongues tied by what one wished to say
But puts off for another day
Then when the circle rotates back to a place
We all turn to lack
The people are left questioning
So embarrassing.
So deafening
