Empty Miles and Shallow Hearts
So much and so little in return
I've been over empty miles tonight
As the echoes of what could have been
Disappeared from my sight.
The subtle signs I should have seen
The marks of things not right
If only I had seen your shallow heart.
β₯οΈππβ₯οΈππ
I walked your road, I took it slow
I gave nothing but respect
So many times I hoped they'd show.
How much I wanted to connect
But your shallow heart began to show
My attention had the opposite effect.
β₯οΈππβ₯οΈππ
So many times I hoped youβd find
Solace from my comfort and care.
And now I see I was just blind
There was no love in there.
You chewed me up and left me there
I didnβt ever think youβd be that unkind.
β₯οΈππβ₯οΈππ
You turned away and closed your heart
You had other things to explore.
You left me here to break apart
Nothing to do with me anymore.
Empty miles left from your shallow heart
Like all the times before.
β₯οΈππβ₯οΈππ
Till next time,

Vividly captures the heart ache and break. I hope time can ease the pain.
Your voice feels sincere and grounded, the hurt is expressed without bitterness, which gives it strength.
Wow this is so sad but so very well written. ππ
