your stare
following me through time
a virtual presence,
Ever there.
I ask for help
In desperation for
you
to care,
To care about me.
Help me to eat,
keep a roof over my body
and safety around my heart
Yet I receive
Nothing.
I sit waiting, hoping,
Praying for freedom
reaching out to you,
only for empty echoes
of the past
Chanting, taunting my mind
“Nobody cares” on repeat.
On repeat.
On repeat.
They were just there to stare
to watch
the struggle
With detachment
Feeding their brains with
Cheap dopamine
You can turn them off,
choose to stop
being their puppet.
Stop sharing your thoughts
Delete your page
Delete your tweets
Delete yourself from their mind
in order to find
yourself
free from the the lie
the emotional strings
of painful belief
that they care

Dunno how I missed this one. Sorry. It's brilliant and Jazzy did a good job reading it!
So glad this was on the podcast so I could discover this gem!
“Cheap dopamine” I quoted you in my latest poem cus I loved the line so much ♡ thank you for the inspiration
This is such great writing. Filled with feeling and power! Very well done.
Wow this is amazing! I'm off to delete my social media RN Thanks to Jazzy Gonçalves for flagging it up or I might never have found it!

Nice!!❤️
Yes! I have no social media because the dopamine was FAR too addicting! Can I read this poem on my podcast?
I feel this so deeply. That’s why I have no social media presence. I was going through hell a few years ago, and I noticed there was no one I could turn to. Just people spying on my life.
Omgggg, this is so true and sooooo relatable! I freaking loved this poem!
