Empty Cup

8 fl oz of nothing

By Adam ToneyPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

What do you do with a cup that only

Empties itself for the coffee mug

What can a cup do when it can’t save a sip for itself

Just one sip is enough for a cup to be strong

To be sturdy to stand tall to always be ready when someone needs a drink

Doesn't ever think about it's own desire for replenishment

No one likes an empty cup

This cup that just tips over quickly

And spills any time optimism works in its favor

Is this mug blind or jaded?

Can't it see it's what was molded in their wishes?

Something, seen as full, and wholesome

I can be worth drinking 8 times a day

Over and over I’m not just another Dixie

...In hindsight It’s no wonder that I’m always dehydrated
