Emptiness

Being Alone

Emptiness

as my photo shows, I’m on a surfboard all alone, heading for the deep, careful, I don’t swim 😂😂

I find myself hostage in a zone where nothing exist,

nothing to touch, not a sound,

emptiness on hollow ground.

a void reflecting thoughts of days gone by,

nights without rest, guarding beliefs we cherish the best,

we exist in ourselves, emptiness a friend,

loneliness a virtue without pretend!

reaching for nothing, we cling to everything,

within the vacuum.

we agree matters don’t matter,

until we make them matter, knowing that,

in the moment, only emptiness matters.

but yes, we rejoice, for time has come again,

to fill the emptiness beyond full,

to gauge the balance of the night,

with visions of the day;

dreaming of a life, slipping away,

hoping we’ll find it today,

yesterday,

someday?

fact or fiction

Those last few lines...thoughts I have too often. This really resonated with me. Wonderfully written!
