Sometimes I wonder what happened to the brown -eyed hopeful girl,

She had dreams to succeed,

She had dreams to be number one,

She had dreams to be “known”,

Until one day the dark gray cloud of reality overcame her,

She was told she wasn’t good enough,

Wasn’t pretty enough,

Wasn’t skinny enough,

Wasn’t smart enough,

She just wasn’t enough,

Dreams shattered and left her empty inside,

She still clawed her way through the darkness,

Trying to find a way out,

Thinking that if she found someone to love her - it would be better,

Thinking if someone loved her - they would support her and be there for her,

But once again that dark cloud of reality came over her,

And she realized, she wasn’t good enough for them either,

She realized she was all alone,

She was replaceable,

And she was replaced with someone better,

That hopeful brown-eyed girl had been replaced,

And had become empty space.
