Friendly Orion

Over my shoulder

Keeps his opinions

To himself

Mercurial reflections

City lights flicker

Along the mirror

Of retreating waves

Spanish music punctuates

Ocean’s whispering sigh

Adding lyrics to

My swaying steps

Palo santo wafts

Along northwest winds

Conversing with my senses

Solo travellers

Are never alone

Kin to every beach bird

Busy hunting crabs

Dotting water’s edge

Spaced evenly apart

Sunset sentinels

Ready for duty

We are the

Night watch

Calm and quietly cinematic! This feels like walking a shoreline with your senses fully switched on. Sometimes being “employed” just means being present enough to notice the world breathing with you. 💖

  • Love the words inspired by those beautiful images

  • Your photos are stunning! I especially loved the ocean's whispering sigh hehehehe
