Emotional Whirlwind

A Poetry Diary: 12/16/22

Painting by Agris Rautins

In the Eye of Death's Tornado,

..she sat quietly in this

Whirlwind of a Storm..

Eyes closed, she breathed deeply

..As her senses gathered.

---

Hands coming out of the whirlwind,

Claws wishing to clench her --

..and whisk her away into

Their Tumultuous Storm.

---

Her Emotions, in a whirlwind, once again--

Tongue as sharp as the cutting wind--

Reminding herself how patience and humility will

Keep her in the eye of the storm && She

choose to stay silent against the others.

---

In the Eye of the storm, She wished to stay--

For she spent most of her life pleasing

Other's Ways -- for her, it is better

To be content Alone, than to be

Clawed away into the Storm of "Others."

---

For this is her peaceful battle of Self-Love:

To stay Alone and calm in the Eye of Life's Tornado.
