Emerging

A world of caterpillars

By Una MarzoratiPublished 5 years ago 1 min read
An empty fox moth chrysalis found in my garden

We were born caterpillars, in a caterpillar factory.

We were told: You will live a caterpillar life.

You will consume and consume and consume.

And then you will die.

You will die a caterpillar.

Then one of us, instead of dying, retreated inside its skin.

Another one disappeared inside its blanket.

The old cells died, only a few survived.

They multiplied and became happy and buzzing with electricity.

A new being emerged.

It remembered its previous life with love,

it accepted its old friends with compassion.

It was the most beautiful being,

and it was able to fly.

We were told lies.

Now we remember.

We will emerge together.

Let's create the world we want.
