Embracing the Oak Tree
Inspirational Poem
No, I'm not singing Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Old Oak Tree by Tony Orlando, but I do advocate giving the said oak some time. Why?
Most of us will let our frustrations overwhelm us, take over, and wear us down. Being stoic about these challenges allows us to overcome them.
And that means composure when the chips are down, a willingness to see challenges as new chances and recognizing that while you cannot control what happens TO you, you can control HOW it happens to you - by fighting the negativity with a positive response.
The old oak reminds us to stand stoically in the midst of rain, thunder and lightning. Enjoy these 3 haikus.
Anchored old oak tree
Standing tall in midst of storm
Battling heavy rain
Drops acorns in wet soil
Soil nourishes, grow anew
New oak sapling sprouts
Oak's tough bark remains
Solid though lightning scratches
Firm throughout the years.
