"However, none are more masterful at the art of distraction than the whimsical shadows of snowflakes dancing under street lights"

Oh what a day full of mystery and wonder! Waking up to a blanket of bright white snow covering my city head to toe left me so giddy. The kind of thing that happens once a year, if we're lucky, though not everyone thinks that way. Most are held up inside to keep their delicate noses from turning red. With a sense of adventure, however, or a bit of imagination, the empty, snow covered parking lots turn into anyone's winter wonderland!

Hurrying out the door even though there's sixteen more hours in the day; I don't want to miss a single snowflake today. To do so would be as similar as losing the chance to talk with God, to ask the creator, "how could you create something so beautiful yet so impermanent?" Those first few steps outside, the wintry chill that rushes over, the blood that flows more quickly to every inch of skin – is the most beautiful thing I've ever experienced.

Slipping and sliding around town for some unknown number of hours, taking my time to breathe in the new world I exist in. Every time I think I'm satisfied, another smooth path, unmarked by strangers, opens up and begs me to leave my impression. I am happy to oblige though each step begets more fear of falling flat, but when I do, I giggle like a fool.

Heading out once more after the sun has set, marveling at the early-morning likeness of the sky which distracts from the blistering cold drying my face and hands. However, none are more masterful at the art of distraction than the whimsical shadows of snowflakes dancing under street lights. What a sight watching little puffs fall from the sky, what an experience to let them land on my face, their soft embrace like that of a lover's caress. Until, in remembrance of time spent together – it melts.

Your a genius! I love your poems. That last paragraph was definitely my favorite! "What a sight watching little puffs fall from the sky, what an experience to let them land on my face, their soft embrace like that of a lover's caress. Until, in remembrance of time spent together – it melts." Beautiful!
