Embers

Of soul

By Colleen WaltersPublished 8 months ago Updated 8 months ago 1 min read

I could adore You

for a lifetime

and beyond

wrap Your arms

around me so I feel

Your warmth on my

cool, jaded skin

breathe embers into

my parched lungs

so I can ignite

a flicker

into a flame

burn me down

to what matters

until all

that remains

is what

matters

most

to You.

“Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭139‬:‭16‬ ‭NKJV

A prayer set to poetry. A quiet offering of self, reshaped by divine fire.
