eight point six four

a rambling

By Kayleigh Fraser ✨Published 10 months ago 2 min read

8.64

That’s 9.04 am. Or pm. Depending on the clock. Will I have it by then?

8.64

That’s August. The eighth month, twenty-sixty-four. When I will be seventy something. Oooph. It’s hard to imagine being in my seventies. And that’s too long to wait.

8.64

Hours? What is point 64 of an hour? 38 minutes? In 8 hours and 38 minutes it will be 4:19 pm. Maybe that’s when it will come…

8.64

Well, eight hours and thirty eight minutes, could also be 8:38. Tonight? Or tomorrow? Or some distant day?

8.64

Kilometres. That’s 5.37 miles. I wish I could walk 5.37 miles. Without the scary dogs hunting me. Or animals. Oh what I would give for 5.37 miles of walking as a safe and free woman.

8.64

Hertz? That’s a low frequency. Quite healing probably. Root chakra healing. I could always use more of that.

8.64

Litres? Of water? That’s a bit too much in a day. But maybe it’s what I need to flush out all of the old diseased cells. Drown them in purity and feel them finally leave me. Maybe then it will come.

8.64

864,000 is the approximate diameter of the sun. ☀️ Maybe it’s a reminder to burn brightly. To shine brightly no matter what. The sun doesn’t stop shining when the world turns towards the darkness. It’s still there, offering its warmth all of the time. Waiting for the earth to turn back around. Over and over again.

8.64

Latitude 8.64 N. That runs through the Airport in Sri Lanka. That’s exactly where I need to be. That’s the portal to my freedom. To my next chapter. Yes. 🙌 Yes, yes, yes. I accept. If THIS is a sign, I welcome it with open arms. And heart. And soul.

8.64

Minutes? Until I get that phonecall verifying my freedom? Now that would be ideal.

8.64

That lattitude also runs through Dambulla. Where the Lion Rock is. I was there two years ago. The magical place shrouded in the ancient mystery of its sophisticated hydraulic engineering that has puzzled historians and archaeologists for centuries.

Pools of water atop a 200m high rock that never run dry, even during droughts, and do not overflow in heavy rains.

How?

8.64

8 + 6 + 4 = 18. Which reduced to 9 in numerology. 9 is the number of completion. And completion is exactly what I need!

£8.64

Is all I need to withdraw my Vocal wallet into my bank account, and in a few days time it will magic itself into coconuts and bananas, maybe even mangoes and oats and bread, enough to feed me well on God’s earthly gifts for a few weeks more.

  • I've suggested this for a Top Story in Raise Your Voice Here https://shopping-feedback.today/resources/raise-your-voice-thread-03-13-2025%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">

  • Very creative. Such an intelligent poem.

  • This is a fantastic piece. So very original and unique. I like how your break this down into different segments and give a different meaning for the same number. I really enjoyed reading this. It was intense yet it was fun. Great work!

    Numeric obsession... Well done!

  • This is just an excellent concept, taking a seemingly small thing (a four character number including the decimal point) and getting a really interesting story out of it

  • Whoaaa, this blew my mind because it was such a creative concept. Then I got to the end and it made me sad. I reallyyyyy hope you get that much soon and are able to withdraw. I'm so sorry I'm unable to help. If I could, I definitely would 🥺❤️

💙 An incredible poem that made me feel joy and vitality. May the sun turn you into a star from the muladhara to the sahasrara chakra, and may the magical numbers sing to you the number 11 of wealth. Good luck with your story! :)
