Why am I blinded by where you dwell?
I’ve searched and searched—
It feels like yesterday I felt your gentle breeze on my skin,
The melodies of birds, wind, and trees
Harmonizing despite their different songs.
_____
The sun glistening,
The animals following my every lead—
It was all so beautiful.
Then I fell,
And was pushed out.
____
It feels like forever since I’ve been searching for you,
Trying to go back to the old times
To the place you first called me into.
Do I go back to find you,
Or will you come to me?
______
Now I wait, wondering,
Hoping to feel a flicker of old times—
When our occasional hide-and-seek was within safe bounds,
All laughter and play, all fun and games
Not this endless search into the unknown abyss.
______
I miss the certainty of knowing you were near,
When I didn’t have to search the skies
Or cry at altars, hoping your presence lay waiting there,
Hoping my tears where worthy enough to summon you,
When my emotions weren’t the bridge to bring you close.
When your presence wasn’t a question
But a shadow to every path i walked.
_______
You were in every place; I could see the path clearly, in your confidence i brace
Now, I stumble and falter.
Do you miss being close to me as I miss you?
_______
I don’t want to play games no more.
Take this immense pain.
Make my heart Eden again.
