Everyone began to wait for the White hot sun to go black, to be overshadowed by the lustrous moon.

Clinging to the thought that this was a promise of a new omen, a gesture of a new beginning. But it was just the moon and sun combined. But many were

Lingering on the belief that this was just cosmic. That it wasn't biblical. But an eclipse is common now, like once a year.

It’s insane, people praying to God and gods, terrified of the shadowed sun shifting the Earth in ways we don't understand

People waited in trepidation, in wonderous awe. Animals trembled, on edge, and plants and weather beginning to sway in temperament.

So many cultures, so many religions, all looking for a darker meaning in the disappearing of the symbol of God.

Everyone was waiting to see where the black sun would take us... Was it to Heaven? Or to Hell?

Describing the eclipse as the "black sun" is a great touch Jennisea! I like how you highlight the reactions people have to such a powerful phenomenon, especially if you didn't have the scientific knowledge necessary to understand it.
