Echoes of Stillness
inhale, exhale

The lake stills itself,
motionless like glass, and
too delicate for words.
*
Sunlight grazes the reeds,
and everything waits.
*
Even the dragonflies
hush their gleaming wings,
like a question
that almost breaks the silence.
*
Then,
a single ripple,
as if the world finally
remembered
how to exhale.
