Echoes of Envy
A Poetic Exploration of Jealousy’s Silent Strife
In shadows green with envy's hue,
Where whispers grow and doubts accrue,
Lurks jealousy, a specter grim,
Twisting love with vigor dim.
It creeps on silent, furtive feet,
Turning hearts to ice from heat.
A lover’s gaze, once pure and true,
Now stained with thoughts of rendezvous.
The laughter shared, the tender nights,
Are overshadowed by silent fights.
Imagined slights, a lover's scorn,
From jealousy's sharp thorns are born.
Oh, cruel warden of the mind,
Binding hearts that once were kind.
You cast dark veils on joyful days,
And paint the world in somber grays.
Yet, from this cage, can souls be freed,
By trust's soft hand, by love’s sweet creed.
For only light can shadows chase,
And heal the heart's envious embrace.
