Echoes of a Shattered Moon

Melancholy Verses and Lost Love in the Darkness of Regret

Moon Lost Love in the Darkness of Regret

In melancholy shadows of October's gloom,

I pocketed shards of a shattered moon.

Strung them like pearls in midnight's loom,

A necklace of sorrow, heartache’s boon.

If I were a flavor, lost in despair,

A taste of regret, a soul lay bare.

In the garden of your gaze, wild and rare,

Echoes of sadness, a silent prayer.

Daisies wept, buttercups sighed,

Bluebells tolled where emotions hide.

Borage blooms in the tears I've dried,

a wildflower garden, love denied.

In the carnival of dreams, a solitary dance,

tattered threads of a fleeting chance.

A sorry tale in a moonlit trance,

Whispers of love, a ghostly advance.

I fidgeted, skirt pulled low,

A corner perch in the shadow's flow.

Nonchalance a mask, a borrowed show,

History etched in a draughty glow.

Silver goblets, forged and thin,

biology's laughter, a hollow din.

A neon sun-head, a vibrant spin,

rainbows formed, and tears begin.

My future, a relic of the past,

moments lived, too fleeting to last.

Jellybean dreams, a spell cast,

time meddled, memories amassed.

In the salt-soaked blankets, we wove our song,

warbling echoes, where we belonged.

Sticky sweetness, love prolonged,

a chapter closed, a heartstring wronged.

What happens now in the dance with time?

A twist of fate, a rhythm sublime.

Meddling with memories, a dangerous climb,

Lost in the echoes of a love once prime.
