Echoes in the In-Between

Fragments of love that linger beyond time

By Luna VaniPublished 20 days ago 1 min read

In twilight spaces where shadows play,
I find the whispers of your days,
A laugh that lingered like summer rain,
A glance that cut through city haze.

We were maps unfolding, edges worn,
Tracing paths where love was yet unborn.
In glitches of time, we'd find our place,
Two fragments merging into one wild space.

Do you remember nights we drowned in stars?
The way we'd spin, and the world would blur?
We chased the echoes of what we'd been,
Dreaming futures neither could define.

In cafés dimly lit like secrets told,
We wrote our names on napkins, young and bold.
Promises scattered like petals on floors,
Footprints leading inward, to uncharted shores.

Love was a country we invaded with gles,
No borders held, no clocks decreed our times.
We were the rebels of our own delight,
Crafting rules as we danced into nights.

Then the maps creased. The paths diverged.
We learned to wear the masks we emerged.
But in the quiet, like a heartbeat sound,
Echoes lingered – _where did we go wrong?_

Do I still see you in crowded streets?
A flicker of hands, a ghost of beats?
I search the faces for your hidden smile,
Chasing memories like fireflies in vain.

Yet in the in-between of days and dreams,
Your absence carves a space that it seems
Only you could fill – a hollowed note,
A pause where love once was a wild vote.

Sometimes in rain, I hear your laugh descend,
Like music falling where our fragments blend.
I chase the echoes to a vanishing point,
Where love unravels, and the ghosts are you – joint.

In twilight spaces where shadows play,
I still find whispers of the love we had.
A map with edges worn, a path unclear,
But in the echoes, _you_ are still here.
