On Silence That Lingers

"Between loss and remembrance lies a realm of silent echoes."

Between the worlds, the silence holds its song,

a voice half-gone, yet lingering in stone.

I walk the fields where shadow keeps me long.

The air still whispers what was lost, what’s wrong,

the roots remember names I thought unknown.

Between the worlds, the silence holds its song.

The trees lean low, they know where I belong,

their branches bend, their murmurs not my own.

I walk the fields where shadow keeps me long.

The stars recall the faces, bright and strong,

their light a record grief has overthrown.

Between the worlds, the silence holds its song.

Regret becomes the soil that sows the dawn,

its echo turning absence into home.

I walk the fields where shadow keeps me long,

between the worlds, the silence holds its song.

About the Creator

Rebecca A Hyde Gonzales

I love to write. I have a deep love for words and language; a budding philologist (a late bloomer according to my father). I have been fascinated with the construction of sentences and how meaning is derived from the order of words.
