East Side Sky

an artifact from a more romantic time

By Natale FelixPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

Without saying a word, you tell me all about your love

For the snow-capped mountains and their self-imposed solitude;

Your frosty grin gives it all away,

And I’m glad I brought you here today.

But I brought myself too,

And there’s something I should say to you.

When I start seeing underwater caustics on the bedroom floor,

and I stop going to the lake,

When I start thinking late-night thoughts in the middle of the day,

When I kill myself trying to keep my love at bay,

You can come meet me here between the yellow walls

To dance under the pink roof under the blue sky

Without moving a muscle, and without saying a word.
